“Losses in Gambling”

What comes to your mind when you read the words, “Losses in Gambling”? Do you think about a few losses which can be treated as a minor loss and forgone or a series of losses which can leave you with a low balance in your debit card and a high payable balance on your credit card?

If you feel you have been able to stop gambling with just a few dollars spent and know that you have not touched the credit card at all, I would saying you’ve done pretty good. However if you feel that your credit card bills have shot up big time and your debit card has practically nothing left in it, when your salary just got credited few days ago, my friend you need to definitely rethink if gambling is still a hobby or has it taken a grip on you and has made itself and inevitable part of your life which has turned into more of an “addiction”.

Over a period of years we have read in various reviews that more people lose in gambling in comparison to the number of people who actually win. Even the people, who win, do so occasionally.

Losses are an inevitable part of every gambling related game, and when we evaluate the number of losses and the amount of money we need to spend in order to get that one win, do we really think that “gambling entertainment” is worth it? This is the question we would like to ponder upon every time we pick up our wallets and purses and think about the next gambling session.  Do we come out smiling or do we actually end up with frustrated emotions and depleted bank accounts?

The probability of winning in gambling is always going to be lesser than the probability of losing in it. This is not a statement which has been made due to the whims and fancies of one odd person. This is a tried and tested fact which has been disclosed by many of the routine and addicted gamblers from all over the world, from possibly every walk of life.

There are many sports that people play throughout the world and as all of us know all sports have a few winners and a few losers. However gambling is the only game in the whole world which accounts for the maximum number of losers who resort to suicides. This is so, because when gambling becomes an addiction and negates the sense of sound financial decision making, people forget where to draw a line and end up spending till they are left with either nothing in their bank accounts or with a high payable balance on the credit card. By the time the person gambling realizes that he/she has overspent and has gone over budget in his/her “so called entertainment”, it is too late.

Then comes the next pay cycle and the addicted gambler thinks of another chance of “making it big” and getting rid of all the debts. This is how the vicious cycle takes a grip on his/her life.
